Vanish is supposed to be used as a line- vanish leader is supposed to be used as a leader.

one is leader material - hence it's sold as leader
the other one is marketed/sold as straight through fluoro

use both and compare for yourself and make up your mind. i have used vanish as leader and works for me

started out with vanish spinning fluro(250m spool) to use as my leader, still use it from time to time and had no dramas.

I think the small 15 or 30m spools of fluro leader are a marketed more to the flyfisherman? not 100% thou.

Pretty sure the Vanish Leader offers better abrasion resistance.

Meh - I use Vanish line for leaders and no problems... yet...

I got 6, 10, 14 & 20 lb categories and so far so good for the last 4 years or so.

When Vanish first came out, I got some to use as leader material but found the quality iffy. Lost a number of good fish when the leader (8 and 6lb) would snap under minimal pressure. Switched to other brands and never had that issue happen again even when I went down to 4lb so I never got Vanish again. Leader materials are supposed to be stiffer than main line but I can't confirm or deny that it is the case with Vanish.
