Shore vs Boat leaders

While out lure bashing today & chin wagging with Richo I had a thought. (rare that I have a good one )

When fishing from a boat we cast into the snags & retrieve out to deeper water using Fire Line & 1 - 3 metres of clear leader.

When fishing from shore & using the same setup casting to the front or side of a snag & retrieving back to shore, we are dropping bright Yellow line in the water were we normally hookup from a boat.

Should we make our clear leaders 10 - 20 metres when fishing from shore ?

good question tony

i would have thought that it really wouldnt make too much difference. if you have 2m of leader it would have to be a pretty big snag for the fish to see the fireline- but there is one thing to bare in mind, if you are using such a long length of leader material- you are defeating the purpose of fireline

might make more sense to fish 100% mono from the shore if it makes such a difference.

just a thought
