Exclamation Elegant Boats??

Hi all

I am getting down to the pointy end of making a decision on a new boat. All going well I will have signed for a boat by the end of the boat show.

At this stage I leaning towards a Hornet (435 or 445) or a 4.3 Elegant

The Elegant I am looking at is the 4.3 TR series with a new 40hp EFI 4st Yammi

Has anyone out there had much to do with the pressed Elegant Boats?? I know there are a couple of the plate boats kicking around (Angry included) but I am particularly interested in the smaller pressed boats.

Any feed back is greatly appreciated.

Boats

I bought a 4.75 Hornet Trophy from Millard Marine after looking at them all and couldn't be happier.

I stand corrected

Thanks Graham. I have been in a couple 445 Hornets and they are great but a bit rough in a chop.

I have just had a PM from Raffi at Elegant Boats saying all his boats are now plate.

So anyone out there in any Elegant boat that can comment on how they ride??

Thumbs up Elegant boats!

JP, David and myself had the pleasure of going out on Angry's boat whilst we were in NSW (just got back last night). The ride in his boat was brilliant. On Tuesday arvo we ran into some fairly good wake from the container ships and the boat handled it with fairly a bump. During the pre-fish at the Taree comp we had 4 of us all fishing from the same side, so over 300 kilos, and the boat barely angled at all. At one stage Angry, David and myself were on one side of the boat and Jp perched himself on the edge of the boat up the back. We were moving around quite a bit on the boat and JP did not feel a thing.

I have ridden in a hornet on quite a few occasions and the ride is no where near as comfortable and I do not think they handle the chop any where near as well as Angry's boat.

Cheers

Mim

HI Mim JP and Dave

I cannot over state how impressed I am with the ride of the Elegant. I have NEVER been in a boat of this size that is so comfortable and confident. I have have just finished reading a write up on the Kevlacat Flycaster, the way the writer describes is pretty much how I feel about my boat, I would love to do a comparo.
I have no idea where Gorokan NSW is, but if you can get to Newcastle (more precisely Medowie) I will gladly take you out for a spin.

Thumbs up

Hi Angry

yes Mim was right, Angry has a very Elegant boat and the ride is nicer than a pressed Hornet or Edgetracker. The hulls that Raffi builds have that custom feel to them that more astute buyers appreciate and are just a tad different to the standard fare. Raffi was saying at Taree that he has made a few design changes to the layout which aid fishability and comfort. To be honest the product is already excellent so the changes are more of a continuous improvement and by the sound of it will make the boat awesome. I have been in many hornets and Edgetrackers and they do not come close to the comfort of the Elegant.

Mim said: "At one stage Angry, David and myself were on one side of the boat and Jp perched himself on the edge of the boat up the back. We were moving around quite a bit on the boat and JP did not feel a thing."

well to be honest, I did feel them move and I did it cos' they were teasing me and said I would fall in, well I didn't even though I spent about 45 mins fishing whilst standing on the rail. I by no means recommend the method to other breamers. You still need good balance and good footing. I had that with the Elegant mightily impressed. I used the same technique again when we were fishing Newcastle harbour.

Thanks for the feed back guys.

I went and had a look at one last week and they look bullet proof.

Angry - Gorokan is on the Central Coast, about 45mins from you. I might take you up on the offer. I will send you a PM if I am going to be up your way on the weekend.
