Stacer Proline 420

Can anybody tell me about these boats. I was at the Melbourne boat show on the weekend and saw the proline on display for $10,195. I was going to buy the 435 Barra Elite but my thoughts changed when I saw the proline. The money I save would get me a good electric motor good sounder and a good livewell. I no they haven't got the EVO Hull but and I was woundering if that makes a huge difference??? So if anybody has got any info on this boat please let me know.

I have a 2 year old Quintrex 420 Explorer Trophy which I think is the same hull. I'm very happy with it on the whole, it's exactly what I expected. Like any punt you get a bit wet in the chop but that's the price you pay for stability.

Thanks for that swoffa

How do they handle in the chop?

Are they as stable as the barra elite hulls?

Is a 30 hp enough for the 420 model bearing in mind that I only need it to get to where I am fishing?

Can anyone confirm that it's the same hull?

I have a Jono 35hp 3cyl on mine and she gets up to 30kts no worries. She rides really well most of the time but I do get wet while chasing pelagics on the harbour, but it's to be expected.

I'm fishing on Wednesday so I'll get some pics so you can see how it's decked out and make sure the hull is the same.

That would be great if you can get some pics. The proline is a V-Nose punt

I cut a hole through the side of the rear deck so the butts can stick through as most of my rods are longer than 6'8".

Very nice mate,

I know what you mean about longer than 6'8" - most of my rods are 7ft with one going 6'6" - but thats where I lay them at the moment - right where you have yours...... did you consider a rod locker at all?

The space between the decks is only 6'8" and I only have 2 rods that would fit without the holes cut for the butts.

I'm not going to bother with a locker as I'll be upgrading to a better setup some time soon.
