Recreational Fishing Boat Licence (RFBL) now required for Classics & ABT

Just a reminder folks that a RFBL is now required.

??

For at least one angler in the CLASSICS team???

"Fishing within someone else's bag limit: Unlicensed fishers can fish in the company of someone who holds an RFBL provided they stay within the licensed fisher's bag limit. The take of fish by all persons on a boat must not exceed the total bag and boat limits of fishers holding an RFBL."

Will both Boater & Non Boater need to hold a license for the ABT comp given that the bag limit will be exeeded ??

Going off the fisheries rules,
I think for Classics only one angler would need it because you only are in possession of one persons bag limit,
but for ABT events both will as you have both have individual bags

I am off to fisheries today to renew my commercial license, still havent heard if they will let me have a rec license. I am not allowed to have any other sort or rec license for abs, crays etc, this shall be a good conversation or maybe my commercial one will already cover me

Ah but of course and they say it has nothing to do with revenue raising

We have to have a general license for our catch quota, then a license for our boat on top of our normal licensing garb, and now a RST and each individual has to hold a commercial FL which precludes us from line catching any fish (just recent) and now i have to hold a RFL if i want to line catch anything. Ye ha

Oh yeah and if anyone thinks that after the 2 year moritorium(?) for the recreational fishing zone down walpole runs out it wont be turned into a sancturary well join me, santa clause, the tooth fairy, a woman that doesnt nag and other mythical creatures for a beer and donut in fantasy land.

We will just get Craig to organise a research grant for "the recruitment of juvenile bream into the Walpole/Nornalup inlet" tag all the bream at the weigh-in prior to release and keep useful records, like the results pages in the WAFM

We will be able to access the dosh that Norman is holding for us in trust for fisheries research This could be an Aussie first, where else would you get 70 expert volunteers (accomodation supplied) for a fisheries research program??

Mark

Have "floated" the idea of one of our tertiary institutions utiling the Classics in a tagging project - no traction as yet - maybe the new pool of funds will attract an application.

Another little project I will get underway shortly (or soonish) is to compile a survey instrument that looks at the economic benefit derived from "breaming". Particularly when we go to country locations such as Albany. Aim to keep it relatively simple but still gather meaningful information.

I will be in touch to progress??
