RMG Scorpions, Does anyone still use these often?

Just out of curiosity.

Does anyone here still have RMG Scorpions in their kit and uses them on a regular basis?...............or use to?

If you have a bream caught on a scorpion I would really like to see a pic of it...........please.

I would really love to see pics of bream caught on the larger 52mm Scorpions if anyone has them.

yep still good - last trip to walpole i caught a heap on scorp 52's. old school still cool as the shirt says.

with jap lures heading up to and beyond $30 each they may become more popular again.

not to mention they scorp 90's were one of the top producers in exmouth last trip as well.

Ahh thats the stuff I was after!

That is interesting Brad.............still used and kicking goals? This is a helpfull bit of info, thankyou.

I asked this question because looking at threads in 2006.....the Halco Scorps seem to reign supreme........and LaserPro's. Looking at threads 2008--> onward these lures are hardly seen.

I have recently used a Sneaky Scorpion that I have had for 2years and I was astonished how well it works...........and I lost it yesterday
But I bought a replacement and the bigger 52 model in the same colour. on the way home.

I am thinking of getting more aussie lures. Are Attack minnows still made?

Thanks for the pic Richo.............I had a sneaking suspicion that any photo of a bream caught on a 52 would be of a big size...........which is why i am interested in these lures. Is the bottom hook removed for this lure to suspend better or for more action? is this reccomended?

I fished yesterday and the fishing was slow using: sx40's, Atomic hardz and smith Jades...........I put the scorp on and caught 5 fish in half an hour, size of fish between 28-34cm...........no undersized fish.

i'd say removing a treble would make it float more than help it to suspend unless it was originally a sinking lure which I believe they are not.

Otherwise yes the sneaky scorpions are probably just as good as an Sx40 or similar as far as action goes except they are pretty crap at casting distance compared to some really good small bream HB like Live X smolt etc.

Look at the 40mm deception palemon. They slayed the bream, trevs, flattie and even little queenies for me a few years back.

Ben- Dust them lures off.......for old time sake.

SurfaceBreamer- I will be looking to get some Palemons, I started luring bream not long ago and would like to fish the lures that were the bees knees before I started. I would like to experience using these classic lures very much.

LazzyLure: Gee this bloke must love his scorps.

BaitBoy- Man that looks awesome. You should contact Halco and revamp their colour range to look more modern. Looks like a bought one.

Thats the stuff. The good memories must be flooding back.

Yeah, Baitboys first post ever to show us that gem. I would love to know how to paint a lure like that. Looks like a new age Scorpion.

This Weekend I am going to thrash a 52mm in Firefin colour. It is the STD that dives 1.6meters, a simular depth to the sneaky scorp 1.4meters.

Let me know how you go Ben.

Well after busting off 2 expensive lures (Kangoku, and a shallow chubby) today I decided to tie on an old Scorp I bought off a breammaster member a couple of years ago. Got a few fish on it although they were not big fish.
the colour was a flouro green/pink thingy. very larish and definately not representative of the baitfish in the river.

Thanks for the inspiration to swim the old girl once again
