New member looking to prove them WRONG

Hi,

I'm new to using lures. I have always been a bait person ever since my old man showed me how to fish. Now I'm taking up lures, but all my mates and family reckon theyre useless, but I'm gonna prove them wrong. This site has given me a good start in theory, but in practice I'm looking for a place to fish from the shore (since i dont have a boat) where i can access a few fishy snags and move around by foot. Can someone help me and enlighten me to some spots where a beginner can give it a go?an prove those non believers wrong.
I know bream are upstream this time of year, how far upstream do I go?
Cheers,
bossman

If you have transport, I would hit Sth Pth fisheries jetty (condemed one) then head off to Herrison Is (rock walls and lake), and then try Ascot Waters (bridges and rock wall), Olive farm (guildford) and fish Market Reserve (midland). And have a read of Kevvys post in the Brag Board. He did all right on the weekend using this approach.

Hope this helps

Cheers

Richo

ps after you have got your first it`ll be all over for your mates as they won`t be able to shut you up. Bream are in the whole river river as well, not just upstream.

g'day bossman,
welcome to the site,i've only been a member for a couple of weeks but have had a steep learning curve.i've fished the river for 15 years and found that where evr i've used baits thats a good place to start with lures.just a matter of walking and casting, getting a look at the area, try one spot and move on.
as you read thru the forums on a daily basis you'll see regular spots come up and its just a matter of getting out there and giving it a go.i now out fish baities no probs and its a buzz when you rock up to a spot and start casting, get hits and land fish when others are soaking baits for hours.get into it!!
cheers

Bossman, there's a bit of a group heading around Ascot Waters this arvo. Jump down there if you can (I am shortly lol).

If you cant make it, keep on eye on the Tavern, Bear is always organising something.

If you need a bit of a secret plan, drop me a PM

Much appreciated.

I might take you up on the offer Craig if I can't get one soon enough from what I've got to go on so far.

Bossman,
If you're interested in getting a fish off a boat, keep an eye on the boards and I'll let you know about the next boaters day soon.

Thanks,
