Rusty rod guides

How do you treat/clean rusty rod guides? I have scrubbed it with an old toothbrush and hot soapy water but it doesn't get rid or the rust. Some one suggested using Lanox (?) which I guess you get it from Bunnings? I'm always looking for more than one suggestion, so what else would one suggest?

The only rod part that rusts is the V part that joins onto the rod guide and also part of the 0-ring. That is where I hook by trebles and jig hook. All the other rod guides are in good condition.

Thanks

Hey breamdreamer you know I am a Lanox MX4 boy. The light blue can not the red one.
No signs of rust on my rods, yet.
Dont know if Bunnings have it, but Bunbury Bearings does.
