What is the deepest hardbody one can get?

So please, what is the deepest hardbody you can buy? The ones I already have are Tilsan Bass, Tilsan Minnow, Scrop 52 DD, R2S, Poltergeist, Scorp 68, some Salmo Hornet (orangy gold huge looking thing ). Is there anything that swims to the depth of over 6 metres deep?

Most guys go to plastics at that depth Carol, but you can get some of the Bass lures that will go to that depth. Might have a bit of trouble getting them here though.

Ian Sewell finessed soft plastics in deep water very slowly to get his huge bags each day. All his bream came from about six to eight metres of water (20 to 25 feet of water). .................................the Blackwood is a pretty deep river and unless the fish are right up on the surface feeding you have to be right on the bottom.
Softplastics! Oh God! Guess I will have to clean the cobwebs off my softplastics! Looks like I will have some major reading and practical homework to do!

Thanks Bear!

Well if your thinking along the lines of a bibbed minnow, then i would say the deepest diving would probly be a tilsan. Otherwise, lipless crankbaits sink to the bottom and can be fished similar to soft plastics.

But since your fishing the blackwood just use grubs and make sure the jigs are in good supply, i lost a dozen in one day last weekend.

"Lipless crankbaits" think I'll go and visit Gav tomorrow! I can see I need a couple of boxes of fags to add on to jigheads! Knots every 2nd casts! Oh dear! Sounds like some masking tape for my mouth too and some tissues for my eyes! Gonna be one expensive frustrating adventure! Eeeer .... th-th-th- er th-thanks for the warning Brad!

As Brad said in that sort of depth lipless crankbaits would be the go if you wanted to use a HB.

Below is a photo of a couple I got in my last order from Bass Pro. Best of all only $1.49USD each

Thanks Jethro for the pictures very helpful indeed. I will have to buy some on the weekend. Anyone use those metal lures for bream? Apparently they sink real fast. Do you jig those of just wind the in?

Think outside the square a little, Carol . If you do plan to use HB's at the Blackwood take this into consideration.
Bear and I were fishing in 3.5m of water in Walpole catching fish on HB's. Now we were using a Bara lure but they would dive to about 2m tops. They were working because thats were the fish were .
They may not always be on the bottom.
Something else you may want to take into account is were alot of the guys get Bream on HB's in the Blackwood. Right in tight to the shore. 1 or 2 cranks in.
If you are concerned about bust ups try texas or carolina rigging Bass minnows with a weedless style hook.

Go in and see Gav or Sewelly and they will put you on the right direction. The most important thing to do is ENJOY the damn fishing and the fish will come

I know they are not always at the bottom. Just like to go prepared with the gear When you're a non-boater who has never fished the area, you don't say anything, you go where you're taken, shallow, deep, to the fish markets, where ever And I think bust ups are not a real concern of mine seriously, a rat will do me fine ... it's a fish, that's all I want I use HBs only cos I have no idea how to use SPs It's all just a fun weekend away from Perth, for me.

Well I had to say enjoy it because I used to be alot like you. Worried about everything :P.
Ask alot of the more seasoned campaigners (Bear, Ira and Herds) and they will tell you I was a stress victim and it showed. My 2nd day results just werent there.
Once I started to relax and enjoy it and fish the way I wanted to more fish started coming
