sicstick pro/softbodz

I recently posted a thread on a rod under 350 dollars. My local tackle store is having a 20% discount on all strudwick rods. I am tossing up between the sistick pro and the softbodz. The softbodz is 70 dollars more than the sspro so I am leaning toward it. Just wondering what evrybody thinks of these rods as the softbodz doesn't get much mention on these forums

Mate go a SiCStiK Pro.

Great rod's. Light, short butt, crisp tip.

I wouldn't realy go a softbodz rod. If you happen to, go the softbodz finnesse 7fter! Very nice.

I'm getting a SicStik this weekend!

Dude hes got over $350 to spent why would be go a cheaper nastier rod for?!

If you had to choose between the two go the softbodz. Better quality better blank.

Sic stiks aren’t crisp, there not light and have a shocking blank that comes standard with broken tips.

cheers, Nathan

there not that bad mate.

For that kind of money tho why not go a HL-Z Saegake? 100 times better than any sic stik.

Are they discounting Loomises as well? If they do, go for them.
Alternative is lookout for the BD rods that Cindy occassionally has them for a special price. I don't own one myself, but from the guys that use it, it'll have to rate up there with the best of them.

Your talking about 2 different areas in rod quality. I have 3 TPS/Softbodz Finese is varous flavours and a Softbodz Finese Pro and swear by them.
If your spending 350+ then you always go for the best you can afford. They are all nice rods (the ones people are mentioning) but your best option is to put a reel on the ones you are looking at and see what feels best for you.
The thing that has sold me on the upper end Struddies is the grip. I love the contoured cork in the middle of the reel seat.

What everyone needs to do is provide with positive information on all products that are sold. If we get vocal people bagging various products, they will remove the products for those areas. We dont want to limit our choice because people cant provide appropriately worded responses to legitimate questions.

Something else that alot of new comers to the sport do not realise is that you are playing with very strong but fragile equipment. Graphite rods, while light and grunty, are VERY thin and fragile. Sometimes even having them tapping againts the gunnel of a boat can cause the most minute crack and will cause the tip to pop.
If you are hard on your gear (high sticking, dropping etc) you might be better of going for a Graphite USA customer built or something similar. Im pretty sure Mim has one built by Adam Royter and can tell you how she treats hers.

I should have mentioned before that I own 2 Strudwicks a sicstik & sicstik pro, both have performed brilliantly. But I still stand by my comment, If you are going to spend $350 there are much better rods you should be looking at.
