Strike Pro Rocks!
Without going into too much detail, I'm a BELIEVER in HARDBODIES now.. esp. the StrikePro pygmies! Fished the nong with and nearly got my first ever bream on HBs TWICE. First time, hooks pulled, second one got busted off... I'm sold. Lost the only 2 strikepros I had over the weeknd, one to snag, second to fish, went out and bought 5 more...

One of the colours I got was a ribena red with a bit of black sort of translucent.. is that as good as the fire tiger one?

Great work, its always exciting getting your first on hards, and mighty addictive - are they the only hards you have thrown before..... ?
maybe worth upgrading the trebles to owners or gamakatsu`s cheers

Hey Chunqx,
I've had the same experience over the weekend, except with the SX-40. In one session got 16 bream in my local waters (landbased in territory very similar to the Nong too), plus 2 more with a bass minnow. If you asked me a month a go I would have said there's no way in hell a hardbody could do that where I fish. I've never caught that many with a softy. |

Do you think its because the bream are now so used to seeing so many softies thrown at them they don't bite when they see a softy (not as much as they used to anyway) so a hardbody is somehting different? If that is the case then they'll soon get used to seeing strike pros and SX-40s and then it'll be time to switch back to softies...

I'm sure bream get conditioned against certain lures if they see them enough. But I'm also sure the hards are catching bream softs wouldn't even 2 years ago. The quality of some of these new hards has to be helping catching the bream. Bream are eating them on straight retrieves that I have never had success with on older cheaper hards.
I also remember hards were the main Nong weapons for Swanke and Pete-s a couple years back. Pete showed me those precious natural coloured crawdads he used when I was down there. |

After I lost the only 2 strikepros I had, I had to use my crawdad HBs and they were nowhere near as good action wise as well as they floated way too fast, I'd prefer a suspending type lure. I also had a micro min in a similar colour but again their wiggles were nowhere near as good.

You should try a SX-40 and see how they compare to the strike pro. The wiggle should be even better. They are worth every cent to me, but I'll get a strike pro to try out if I ever see one.

I was told that they're pretty much the same lure except the trebles are not as good out of the box as SX40s and some of them need tuning whereas the sx40s are good to use straight out of the box... Oh the colours are different too ...

I'll have to see for myself but I thought the strike pro action wasn't as good on an ultra slow retrieve.

Swoff,
have you seen any strike pros around Sydney? I'm curious to try them. Must be an OK lure to get Chunqx off those green pumpkin fat grubs

You can get them through M.O. Tackle also.
