Rapala Suspending shads

I managed to get a couple of the 4 cm Rapala suspending shads in the fire tiger colour.. What's the review of that lure for bream? The trebles look larger than I'm used to for bream lures but they look sharp and strong unlike your typical bronze type trebles that come standard with most lures. Would changing them to a daiichi chem sharpened high carbon trebles affect its suspendibility in the water? The reason I got them in the first place was because I was hoping to get a lure that neither float or sink when dead sticking after a couple of winds.

So far the nong and the yarra. I don't know about Docklands... Avoid that place like plague!

Funny how I never got a reply about the actual subject title...
How does the rapala perform?
Going back in history, Rapalas were the benchmark of hardbody lures, most popular were the countdowns red-head patterns.... Then the market were flooded by heaps of others, nilsmasters, yo zuris, etc
Anyone used the suspendin' shads with success?

Yeh confidence is a freaken huge factor in taking the fish. We were talking about that last night.

Having a few fish under your belt for the session takes the urgency out of your retrieve and that seems to be something the fish can sense. We conducted an experiment last night that was ridiculous. One bloke was getting a hook up a cast while the other was not even getting a touch. Both using the same leader,
lure and as close to exactly the same retrieve as is humanly possible. The same bloke
who was struggling this week was taking fish willy nilly on the same bank last week but he started thinking about his retrieve too hard and things went pear shaped.

While bait fishing we experience the same thing. There must be something about stressing that seeps down the line and keeps the fish away - the harder you try the worse you do - that said -
really working on your presentation and concentrating when there is no pressure is a good thing. I cant work it out. It happens too often - some days the gods are smiling and other days - youre there for for their amusement

well chunqx i had one (baby bass colour) a while back, went out with bubba one afternoon....
must have been third or fourth cast with it, and wham @#@#! strike bzzz, ping *

followed by uncomfortable silence ........

i was unhappy to say the least, i just hope it was a real stoinker cause if it was a grunter or a lil' nipper i'll never know, just shows it pays to check your knots!!

since then i havent found any more in that colour, so havent been able to prove they work
