Mullet on 52's ????????
I wish I had a camera yesterday , I went out to my beloved Kalgan , it was probbaly my second cast at a snag and I got a little nudge. I was on , well I thought I was on , wind in , about 5 cm of Yellow Eyed Mullet. I could not belive my eyes. It was my first time throwing lures out of a boat ( I had to hire one ) and it was impresive. I fished spots that I had fished of the shore with no luck and I got hits first cast on some.
I ended up with one nice fish just over half a kilo and one just under. The wind got up so I had call it quits as I had the Misses and kid out with me. Regards Ben Scott |

I fished the Kalgan yesterday as well, from about 4 till 7. We got a few all on 52s and 68s, I knocked the treble out of my mates 44cm maybe 45 at the boat with my broken net. I had the session wrapped up with 10 minutes left, last drift down the flats to the ski beach and my car, when he nails a big boy. To say he was pi$$ed was an understatement, then I had to tell him it was his buy because I'd won the session with a 37cm. The tide was really high and we caught all our fish within a few feet of the bank vegetation, If you see two guys chucking lures from a punt Ben, come and say hello.
