Drought

On the east coast we are experiencing the worst drought in living memory with no sign of a let up.

Estuaries are very clear as they are having no fresh put into them at all. I have always liked a little bit of rain to stir things up, I have always reckoned that it puts bream on the bite more because there getting the chance to increase there diet with terrestial foods and they are just that much easier to catch on a lure as they are a little bit more adventurous.

Do you guys on the west coast feel the same and whats the rainfall been like over there?

Heard on the radio this morning, lowest January rain fall for 6 years in WA. .... glad bream can swim in 6 inches...

I've seen them on the sand flats coming up after bread on there sides with their top fin out of the water

I think the lack of rain is part of the trouble with the Melb Docklands. We need a good flush of fresh water and a bit of suspended matter in the water.

No such drought dramas here in SE Queensland anymore. Here in Caloundra we have had about 220 - 230mm in the last 3 days. A bit of 30 - 40 knot breeze to go with it as well. Should be able to find a fish or 3 after this.

We've been in a drought for years now (WA). It sucks, but this summer doesn't seem to be as hot and dry as previous years. Mind you, february has just started

Having said that, we get enough rain in winter to stir things up in the swan. Shame we have water restrictions though.
Man, all we need is a good winter!
Do you guys have restrictions over there?

We are on level 2 water restrictions at the moment and if your on tank water your trucking it in and february over here is usually the hottest month, we sank a bore a few years ago, we can't drink it but its ok for the garden.

Everything is pretty brown at the moment and not a lot of feed left in paddocks but its nothing like western NSW those poor bastards really know what a drought is.
