Under $50 Reel

Hi,

this might sound stupid. but im after a 2nd reel for my 2nd rod.

ive got some 15 dollar el cheapo ryobi plastic reel, that i think i will change.

Now just wanted to know your opinions, on what Reel will be best for around under 50 buks.

im after probably a 2000 series reel, that i will put around 8 lb fireline on, and i would prefer it to be a bit light.

Im going to use it for bream, flathead, and anything else that i can use it on.

Ive already got an Okuma avenger 20, great reel for its price, but i dont want to pay that much for a second reel.

im thinking about the OKUMA "Granite. anyone have comments about it?

Thanks, let me know your ideas.

MMMM, an under 50 buck reel is pretty hard, the bottem end of the diawa range is a samuri one with 7ball bearing retail for 100 bucks, and they end up diying pretty fast when u use em for a spinning reel, to be honest u will only get junk for 50bucks, either look on ebay for soomething that comes up, sorry mate

Hi chopper,

Mate if you already have a good outfit don't bother!!

Putting $25 worth of line on a $50 reel doesn't make sense as it will likely tangle anyway!!!

Buy some lures and jigheads instead.

Just my opinion.

i guess you guys are right.

no point having a cheap reel with good line on it.

i might get another Okuma Avenger 20, as ive had no problems with it.

i just searched the net also, and i saw the OKUMA Inspira IS-20...anyidea if this reel is good, or what its price is?

thanks fellas

I happened to find a reasonable reel for exactly $50. Its a Daiwa Regal Zia 1500. Only thing is its second hand and hence its low price. Its actually sold in a tackle shop and they assured me that although the outside of it doesn't look all that great but the inside is well serviced and works perfectly which is important. I also happen to know them well enough to know they're not the type to say anything to sell you something and so they're word is good as gold to me. I didn't end up getting it because I just got a couple of new reels but it stuck in my mind because the Regal z ia happened to be my favourite reel until I dropped it into the saltwater and the inside died after that (which is expected having not immediately taken it apart and giving it a good clean!)

Hi guys,

just to let you all know , i decided to buy something more then just $50.

I got myself an Okuma Inspira 20 off ebay for $89.00.

Is this a good deal? cause i read the review on it over the internet, and lots of chat that its a very good reel.

Ive got an Okuma Avenger 20, and that also seems to be good, so now ive got 2 Okumas .

Any feedback on the inspira? also does the inspira retail for $170 in stores?

thanks
