Talking Killer poppers

Have been trying to work out a local (NSW Nth Coast) spot for some time now. All the old tricks failed-shallow divers twitched on surface, other poppers, surface plastics etc
Last 3 days have had a field day from late arvo into the night on a little popper from River and Sea -the" Buggi" -pop 35.
Black has outfished other colours and in the name of science other lures have been tried in the middle of a hot bite-nothing..... Change back to the Buggi pop 35 and boom!!
No big fish yet but well and truly smoked twice.
Give them a go.
Strangely they are working over shallow structure nowhere near overhanging trees or other apparent sources of terrestrial activity.
Tight lines.

Don't let the cat out of the bag

There's a couple of guy's who post on here that can back me up on the effectiveness of them - and surface fishing for Bream is seriously addictive

(and I know where to get them for under $10 )

G'Day Dave. I'm currently seriously addicted to surface fishing.
Would be very keen to hear your sub $10 lure source if you are OK letting that cat out of the bag. I have lost 3 in the last week on big fish that were not stopping so its becoming a very expensive habit. Any $ saved is well worth it.
Sorry if I blew a secret. Its just thwt we bought our first ones in the throw out bin at the local tackle shop placed in there because the locals reported that they were duds-Ha Ha. Those first ones were very cheap but replacements have not been . Seems to be a shortage of black... I wonder why.

What is the actual name of the popper you describe? I searched for it but couldn't find it... incorrect spelling? And do you mean River2Sea?

thanks

Chris

hi

Have you heard about the thong popper which is made funnly enough out of the old humble popper. Materials like dowel, Packing foams etc are all good materials to work with.

Cheers
Stuie

PS any mention of scheap lures verymuch appreciated

PSS The bag with cat in it is in the bottom of the river
