got a few favourite colours amongst the scorp 35`s.

Crawdad - caught my first ever 2 bream on this colour. Has come into its own recently..... and a first choice more often than not.

Gold Orange Back - Accounted for many a fish in the 1st Albany Rd last year..... nice and flashy.

Brown Trout - Just a great colour, reasonably neutral and seems to account for good numbers at most times of the year.

I base all my retrieves on the slowest possible to get the lure action happening. Throw in the odd pause and your away. If they are not taking it, start varying the speed of your retrieve.

Hope this helps

cheers

gday bowie,

One thing mate - I have become more of a fan of laser pros - taking the middle treble they are awesome (become a suspender/slow riser) and cast a lot better than a scorp 35. Same colours though.

cheers

Hey bowie i reccomend all the 35's especially the ones Richo has reccomended.

The gold with orange black has been reccomended to me by tackle stroes all over western australia. Down south in the Franklin river my dad just bout it aand first cast at a snag we could see the bream feeding, He was on to a 40cm+ bream but unfortuatly it busteh him off at a tree snag in the water.

I like all halco lures not matter what fish i am targeting but my 2 favourits are the 35's and laser pro's you should give them a go!!

good luck

cheers pappy

I started out using the Scorp 35's with some success, but have moved onto Lazer Pro 45's, still in the same colours. I've found they cast alot better and my strike rate has improved.

Cheers,
Willo

I found Laser Pro 45's fit into my fishing when fishing only from a boat. Because ,when fishing from a boat I cast into shallow water(up against banks) then as the retreive carries on the lure can get deeper without fearing of snaging as I would shorebashing with Laser Pro 45's.
I have taken a liking into Scorpion 35's over the last year and abit fishing from shore. Fishing very very low tides and summer high tides, I knew these were suited for the kinda of depths that I was casting into.

This fish below was the most shallow hooked bream I have landed from the Swan River, was only 34cms or something but when you hook up it was an instant jump out of knee deep water. I was actually standing where I hooked my old Pb(40cm) thats how low the tide was at the time.

Cheers

thanks all however......

Great set of info from you all and thanks for that, one more question, so i assume that it is best to take off the middle treble set of hooks.....

Taking middle treble off

Yeah I take the middle off 90% of my lures, because thats the treble that usually gets into trouble when snag fishing. You will also find with laser pros they will change from a slow sinker to a slow riser/suspender, and will retrieve ass high, which really makes it hard to snag up due to the position of the treble.

With a scorp 35, taking the middle treble off will give it a much wider action or not as tight a shimmy. But of course you will loose casting ability.

Worked properly a laser pro (without middle treble) really is snag proof - from boat or from shore it really shouldnt make to much difference, just slow your retrieve down the closer you get to shore when shorebashing. Also dont be afraid to change the trebles either.

Have fun mate,

cheers

I have had awesome success with the colour fire-fin! I like to crank 'em down deep and work the rest of the retreive with lots of darts and twitches.

another question Richo... or anyone willing to answer my question

With the scorpion and laser pro sinking style ones.... it says the swim depth is 1 metre does this mean thats about the maxium depth it goes to? or is it on the average cast it sinks that deep before the you retrieve?

Also with shallow diving and diving lures how exactly do they work? is it when you retrive the lure will dive? or does it mean when you cast, from the impact of the cast it will dive that to abou that depth and slowly rise to surface on retrieve?

Thxs guys, any help will be appreciated as i'm still learning about hardbodies.
