i had the 12v 55lb, and for the price mate, you would be silly not to get them, i got mine for $425 delivered to my door.

the motor is a bit noisier than the expensive ones but not by much, also the foot pedal is hugeeeee.
remote control unit doesnt have a lanyard attachment, but i modified mine to take one.
battery life was super.
i only had mine for a month before i sold the boat, but it worked flawlessly in the time i had it, new owner is also enjoying it.

I have got the 55 also no issues yet only been out a 4 times of times since fitting and very happy it goes forward and turns what more can you want.

The unit that turns the motor is a little noisy but nothing to worry about. the motor itself is no where near as noisy as the water snake that I had.

The foot pedal is big and clunky but I have big feet but still big to find a spot on my little boat. Some creative mounting fixed this issue.

I have the control mounted on my rod and the foot pedal also connected for when i am changing plastics re rigging , I believe that you can get up to 5 remotes hooked up at once @ around $70 if you want one on every rod.

For the price you cant go wrong $399 for the 55, Motor ,quick release bracket, control & foot pedal.

let me just repgrase the noise term.

as mentioned above its the gearbox/motor that turns the shaft thats noisy, the lower unit which has the prop is very quiet.

the $399 price was a bee cee eff special with $25 flat fee for postage if you wanted it, or pickup from store for free.
it might still be an online deal on DohDohDoh worth checking it out

cheers

Strange the company sponsors a few tournaments and I'm assuming they want their product on as many tournament boats as possible for any media coverage, yet their warranty has this clause:

This limited warranty does not apply to motors used for commercial, professional (i.e. tournaments)
