Gunfish 75's

With the whole whiting thing in full swing I'm always looking for a new lure and came across these Lucky Craft Gunfish 75's.
On paper they look like a slightly larger Sugarpen but with an extra couple of grams and some pretty nice colours they might be worth a go.
Can anyone tell me if its worth buying a few?

They are a lot fatter than the sugarpen's but basically the same action. You can also displace quite a bit of water with them, and they can provide a subtle pop too. Stock hooks are large also. As a whiting lure, I would be suggesting these only for the bigger ones. I never experimented with assists, however I was targetting the likes of giant herring. There are probably better out there for your intended species imo (such as the sammy), but they'll definitely work and cover a great deal of ground.

Thanks for the reply. I'll probably grab a couple and give them a go as there's some real quality fish around at the moment, plus I've been getting a lot of ridiculously small fish on the Sugarpens.
Just started tying my own ZX style assists and they're working every bit as good as the Ecogears.

Just tried some of these recently with assists on the rear (chasing whiting) and was working one quite hard and quickly so they could find the lure....... all I got was a whole school of bream fighting for it and without stopping the lure I was hooking up on those assists constantly on bream.

I need to try again in a whiting only zone but they are great lures for that skipping action just with more noise and less subtle than a Sugapen.

Mick.

Thanks for the reply Mick.
I'll definitely grab a couple and give them a try.
