engel conected to trolling batteries

Thinking of hooking up my engel to my 24v trolling batteries.

Any issues with this and will it affect my trolling motor?

Engel with Trolling motor

Good Question Pez,

I am about to do exactly the same thing with a 40ltr Engel Fridge , I have an Ultimate Deep cycle UL100 Trolling motor battery which I have wired up to charge off the Cranking battery when the motor is going , it keeps it sort of topped up during the day , I was wondering what effect of adding a fridge would do , obviously would not be going all the time, but keen to know if anyone else has done this

The engel will run off 24V without a problem. Running both the fridge and eleccy wont be a problem either, you will obviously have less battery life running the fridge also but the current draw of the fridge will be halved when running on 24V.

So shouldn't do any damage to the electric motor electronics then.

No it will be fine. I run a fridge and eleccy occasionally on weekends away (on 12V though) and never had a problem with either the fridge or electric motor.
