Trip Away

SO, I'm turning 21 next january and am spoiling myself to a trip abroad predominantly for fishing, and there is so many options so I would like some help from people who have experienced fishing overseas. At the moment I'm liking New Zealand because of cost etc but any advice/experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers Guys

More than kingies in NZ... budget and anything that you really want to target would help us.

Hi mate if Nz is where you want to go check out Coramandel Kayak Adventures run by Rob Fort who is one of NZ's top kayak fisherman. He has a kayak hire business and store in Coramandel and can put you on great fishing including Kingfish and snapper. Provides fully rigged ocean kayak yaks with sounders and all the gear and delivers them to launch spots for you.
I went out with him in January for an afternoon. Wonderful part of Nz only a couple of hours easy drive from Auckland.
cheers Brendon.
I have reposted a trip report from my trip in January .This was the only afternoon I had free to fish but if you had more time and planned it better...

Go cape York, look up bullys boat hire I'm going for my 18th and worked out at $1300 per person with flights/accomodation/boat hire and everything else that's for 5 days though, going in June but from all accounts a great operation

Depends what sort of fishing you wanna do. Personally I'd probably look at going to tassie for the bream/trout opportunities. But heavier sort of stuff maybe look at barra fishing around Arnhem land. That would be an experience in itself.

Ive just come across this baia sport fishing lodge in PNG and it looks pretty smick 6 nights for around $4000 includes guided fishing meals etc etc. Obviously the black bass/ jacks are awesome! but does anyone know or experienced the blue water and reef fishing off PNG?

If I was doing the ultimate aussie trip I reckon Weipa sports fishing would be hard to beat. Check out the outtajuice videos. Awesome stuff.

i did cape york approx 8 yrs ago using boats out of cape york tackle and ice was a great trip so many options and boats were reliable and spots marked if we wanted to try them out

fresh bait gathered for us daily and we had choice of centre console or smaller boats to get into the creeks chasing barra etc

exmouth another option such a great place again heaps of fishing options and species plus ability to hire boat or charter just watch out for sanctuary zones no fishing

good luck some great destinations out there
