I need to make a backing plate for my electric and wondering what the best material is to use.
My hull is fibreglass

Cheers

Use a thick nylon sheet...like cutting board only thicker...can be cut and shaped easily to fit your deck...it's as strong as. I did this for my fibreglass nesscraft boat and it's still going...you should make another plate to go on the inside of the hull. I used marine ply and bolted through the nylon, hull and ply plate. worked really well

I've already got the baseplate and the quick release bracket I just need something to go inside the hull for more surface area as the quick releaseb bracket only has four holes
