New here (kind of)

Hi BM,

It's been a pleasure reading all of the great info here. Plenty of stuff for bream beginners like me to get absorbed in. I've been eagerly awaiting full activation of my account so that I can start posting. It was the slowest week ever.. hehehe.

My local is the Nong - a difficult place to catch bream consistently. I'll need all the help I can get. I've traditionally been a baito and am moving into SPs now. I've only managed a couple of hits on SPs and one hookup but lost the fish. So I'm yet to catch that first bream on SPs.. I feel I'm getting closer though with the advice I've gained on BM.

You can blame Sloth for reviving my love of bream fishing. I read a lot of his posts on another forum and followed him over here. So to Sloth, thanks for posting your journey so people like me can get inspired too. I hope to learn a lot from all of you here.

I'll see you all around the forum!

Cheers
Glenn.

Hi Glenn,

Welcome to BM

Glad to here my drivel actually serves a purpose. I've got to say bream fishing has been the most challenging and rewarding fishing I've done to date - I look forward to seeing your journey unfold

Probably bump into you on the Nong sooner or later.

p.s. Don't blame me for your soon-to-be addiction

Cheers
Dave

Thanks so much guys I really appreciate it.

My goal of catching that first bream on SPs is yet to be unfortunately. I've been down the Nong a few times since but all for nada. I keep reminding myself that I'm there to learn good technique with placcies, not just catch fish. I'm sure I'll crack it sooner or later.

I'm trying to be disciplined and not complicate things by adding too many SP options for now. Im using wrigglers, turtlebacks, grubs in motor oil - basic options that I know work for others until I build my confidence.

Will no doubt see you down the Nong Dave and Goody. I head down 1-2 times a week for an hour or two.
