new reel

Gday guys

Just looking for a new, cheap reel. I'm very short on cash at the moment and i was wandering what the shakespeare synergy 200 in the online store was like? Has anyone got one?

cheers

Cody,

These are a TINY reel. I used to have a small shakespeare sigma for 1 kilo and this was a reasonable reel albeit at the cheaper end of the market. I found that it needed a fairly stringent maintenance regime to keep the bail roller turning. I now look after my gear a lot better than back then though. If you are after a cheap reel for 1 or 2 kilo it'd be ok but I'd probably rather a small shimano aernos 2000 SBL. Similar cheap pricing but probably a more robust reel for you.

Cheers.

yeah I reckon the synergy is tiny.
Wat rod U planning on using it on??
I reckon the Okuma Avengers are bargains for the price.
Otherwise there's always the JW reels taht are priced about $50
or the Abu spin reels U see in K-mart.
For budget reels, all U need us infinite anti-reverse, metal spool and decent line roller.
Wat is ur max spending limit??

I'll second the vote for the avenger I've used one on a friends heartland and liked it he was using the fireline of course.

I've just layby'd the avenger 15 for my new sic stick (also on layby) I'm intending on spooling it with 4lb fireline

Also steer away from JW reels if their $50 and the avenger is $69 it's $20 well spent on a better reel long term.

Good luck
