Quintrex 4.0m Rhino hull?
Just been inspecting this boat and it is a Rhino hull. I'm unfamiliar with this hull and would like some opinions on it. It's a 1980 build.
It looks to be good in the chop and swell when going, but may lose a bit of stability. Predominantly will be used in the creeks and dams and inshore on good days. http://www.breammaster.com/forum/att...1&d=1420507075 |

Old Quinnies and De Havilland hulls are becoming pretty boutique now days.
Saw one old Quintrex hull that some guy redid from the ground up, and 'my god' did it look nice! An old friend of mine that pumps yabbies for a living worked a old Quintrex tinnie for years untill money got the better of him and he upgraded however the boat was flawless bar the paint job. I hear that the newer boats are running crappy welders and cheap wire and the welders themselves are turned over - only have to look at the Tellwater / other boat builder job posts asking for welders these days. Mind you the Aluminium will be starting to get brittle with age - and all depends on its previous owner / life. Looks like a nice boat with good history. |

Two owners since built, no cracks, welds, touch ups or any damage to the hull. It looks to be a very strong and rigid hull. A little tlc and I think it would come up bloody nicely and for what I deem a steal. Just unsure of its stability but might be good for my first boat. Would like it a little longer but I plan to
take her for a run to determine if it'll do my needs. Just dont want a piece of crap that I'll regret buying. |
