sol 2 noise
I have recently purchased a 2004 sol 2 which has started making a sshhhh sort of noise when the handle is wound slowly, when the anti reverse is switched off the noise disapeers. The noise isn't that loud and doesn't affect its performance, should I be sending it back to daiwa under warranty? Wondered if there are any reel gurus that could give me some advice, thanks in advance.

Hi gaz,
Does the noise only occur when line is being wound? I had a similar issue with my sol II 4000 and the line roller bearing was the cause (a common issue among daiwa reels). If the sound doesn't occur when line isn't being wound then it is likely the line roller bearing. |

Wouldnt be the AR bearing be the culprit - as quote "which has started making a sshhhh sort of noise when the handle is wound slowly, when the anti reverse is switched off the noise disapeers."
Line roller would be the issue of noise constantly when wound with line under pressure, not when the AR lever is switched off. Cheers |
