Stradic 5000
Hey fellas.
Looking into getting a Stradic 5000 FJ to mainly chase Pelagics (throwing slugs, micro jigging/jigging, throwing plastics and popping) Anyone use this reel for this? How does it hold up? and any recommendations? Thanks Guys

I own a 4000 Stradic FJ. Same body, different spool size. I think it's only a 25-yard difference between the 4k and 5k reels. I much prefer the T-shaped handle (which appears to be contrary to everyone elses opinion) as opposed to the egg-shaped but otherwise there shouldn't be any other difference.
I love this reel and have managed many good fish throwing metals, plastics and jigging as well as throwing lures in the estuaries for large Barra and Jacks. |

hey mate, I have a 5000 stradic and use it for everything! jigging, throwing medium topwater lures and also softplastics. Bang for buck you cant go wrong. Its also hardy as hell on the boat, it can withstand the rigors of offshore fishing.

cant beat them for the money. I have 3. (selling a brand new one atm)
First fish with weight I caught on one was a stingray bigger than a car bonnet. 2hrs 55min locked up and still fine. Use mine for live baiting the river for jewies, jacks and bull sharks. Offshore for jigs 20 - 80g and bottom bashing. Mine have all come smoother and tighter than the Sustain FG's. |
