Recommend me a new 4000 rockhopper.

After two solid weeks of going around in circles looking for a new reel. Ive decided to ask you guys for a hand.

The reel be used exclusively from land
The reel will be used for drummer Bream and snapper using mono and Small to medium pelagics using Pe 3 braid. ( with a spare spool )

-It will live on the rocks and be abused
-It will get lathered in cunjevoi
-It is going to be the ugly hard working brother of my LBD Morethan Branzino

I have figured out i can score a ballistic ex for 220 delivered and it has been the front runner in my mind for sometime. However big parts of this reel are only ever going to be utilised on kings etc. For its main work drummer and snapper it is almost a little overkill. In reality a reel dedicated to drummer off the stones needs to stand up to abuse but also be about budget, knowing it will be replaced alot quicker then usual. Thus i keep comng back to something like the lexa as perhaps the smarter choice then the ballistic ex as its price is 149.

(just in case people suggest alveys, ive used hundreds and while back in the day i loved them i dont miss my arms feeling like they want to drop off )

HELP !

no worries, just stay away from low-midrange Daiwas which are fragile and too subtle for your scenario.Stradic FJ or Exsence BB from jap-really hard to kill, some Penns are also would work,if you are not a line laying perfectionist, though.

excense looks like a nice reel but only holds 130m of PE 2 ?? seems a little slim

Shimano is pretty messy with spools compatibility, easy to go wrong,if you going to order it from proven jp store ask them about the correct spool, they normally happy to cooperate on this.
Another option is the old good Saragosa 4000F,it's forevever-lasting workhorse with spool deep as hell.

Daiwa Blast in 3520 or 4020.

Ive seen these things abused and they're still going strong!

rarenium 5000. Comes with spare spool, a lot less worry with nicks and scratches getting corroded, light and $199.

Not the best gear ratio for the pelagic's but cant win them all.

Thunnus are also pretty good all round reels.

Shimano will no longer be doing spare spools included from here on in.

Have a stradic fj 5000 for this type of stuff and its perfect. Has been abused for almost 2 years now on kings, big jew, drummer and more and its still going strong. By abused i mean completely dunked on at least 10 occasions, bumped into rocks countless times and skull dragging fish till the washers exploded (and even gets covered in bread and cungie juice every now and then). I love my daiwa gear, but feel the low end daiwas couldn't cop anywhere near that amount of punishment... Save yourself some money and get a stradic!

I just bought a new Caldia 4000, 8kg drag, hold 300m of PE2.5 for the same purpose...will try it hopefully soon and will let you know. And it's $215 so any rock rash won't hurt much. And magseal is awesome

X2... get a 6500ssm or the new spinfisher V...these are bullet proof... but come with the cost of weight.
Abuse them all you want - they will not die from regular fishing....there is a reson why many of the Snapper charter boats in PPB use them day in day out. Theyre cheap, reliable and made as a workhouse... If you dont care about your gear, dont wash it an abuse it... this is the reel for you.
