Agreed, forget the hornet offshore. I'd go the renegade, much more versatile.

sold the crusher as it was 680HT and was a bit big for bream fishing and impractical..... amazing offshore but have gotten more into free diving and not really rod fishing much these days so a downsize seemed a bit more practical to put a bit of money back in the bank to afford a new house swell.... had a look at a 490sc renegade today and liked the look of it just not sure how they will be at rest

Mate never been in a 490 but been in a 440 plenty of times.... there is constantly two of us running side to side in it with no issues of instability. ... been out to our 24's in the 440 and handles the chop pretty well im sure the 490 would be a weapon....they r pretty heavy for their size

Just an option AMM make an awesome 4.9 it's custom built boat
U can set it up the way u want they deal with Yammy and Suzuki
I've been in one and they are a pretty good bit of gear as I've owned Formosa bluefin and a stabi

The 4.9 is perfect size for lake to inshore

Cool

I've done a bit of research too and by all accounts the renegade will be a far more comfortable ride with the blade hull than the new f front on the hornet under power, but even at rest a renegade is so wide that it's stability wouldn't be faulted .

The renegade would be my pick 2/3 the price of the hornet due to the basic layout but far more capable in the ocean. I would also get the offshore transom option.

I used to fish with a good mate that had a 490 topender and it was the ultimate allrounder, I can see the renegade being a budget version.

A renegade 460 is on my wishlist
Cheers Matt.

I really like the look of the Aluvan boats. A friend of mine has one with the new 60HP Yamaha 4str tiller and often fishes quite wide up Double Island way.

From memory renegades are supposed to be plate where as the topender are rolled aluminium... Either way quintex use coke can quality aluminium so not sure how much better the hull will be. I think they're just following the market trend as most manufactures of these deeper v hulls are moving to plate aluminium rather than rolled as used in ping hulls like the hornet.
