Daiwa reels new models due soon?
In my search for a new reel looking on some of the sites O/S noticed Plat have not got any Luvias listed at all.
Does anyone know if perhaps the 2012 version shall receive an update? Caldia lifecycle was around 2 years, so maybe one in the works for the Luvias. |

Surly it was far to popular to be getting a change already? I saw the same thing the other day as well though, so maybe.

How about a new freams, ballistic or steez? That would be good.

I'd say over this spring/summer/autumn the freams, luvias will be updated for sure.
About 3 year cycles and daiwa stagger their models unlike Shimano that seem to release many at one time. |

There was an 11 Caldia, now there is a 2014 Caldia. There was a 2010 Certate and now a 2013 Certate. There is a 12 Luvias and there will a ____ Luvias. Get the pattern?
It's a three year cycle. Unless Daiwa are desperate to make some money than you will all have to wait until next year.

The first Caldia kix was 2009 I believe.
Though I did see the current production trend of 3 years. |

Just noticed the new Ignis Type-R on Facebook. It looks bloody nice!
Apparently sits inbetween Luvias and certate. Last edited by Pies1010; 19-06-2014 at 08:19 AM. |

Also judging from JDM prices, it will be more than a 13 Certate. Im guessing it is going to fill the $600~ bracket which is missing from the current Daiwa range. |

Yep its above a cerate on the price scale, it is a luvias body with more bearings, a wave spring in the drag and more bling like an exy handle they look good I reckon.

Daiwa said it sits between Luvias and Certate. I reckon it will be pricier than the the tate at first but.

I looked at the Ignis type-r they look great around the same price as the certate's ($20-$30), its just hard to go past the value of the Luvias at present.
I have a couple of 13 Certates and love them, just surprised that the Ignis does not have the magseal line roller. |
