Outboards - Corrosion minefield.
I usually walk the canals up here where I live, they hold a fair few fish and the boats "Oh my"....
Anyhow there are a lot of tinnies that are either beached with their outboards in the water when the tide is up however this particular outboard takes the cake for corrosion in every respect... I remember a few people talking about this brand a few times either here or on another forum about corrosion concerns - well this just shows that its true... This just seems unnatural and in areas (tiller - its there if you look at the paint) I wouldn't ever expect corrosion to occur - as having owned a 'aspro' outboard and having a anodic corrosion issue myself. |

Did it have a zinc anode on it?

Big ole juicy one under the cav plate - was in good knick.

If the motor is out of the water, the sacrificial anodes become pointless as they need to be fully immersed.
Maybe could be a contributing factor ? |
