Reel for samurai 302

Gday,

Been visiting bream master for about 12 months now and finally decided to make my own profile and get a piece of the action. Great bunch of blokes with an incredible wealth of knowledge.

As you can see from the title I'm after a reel for my samurai 302. Was thinking a luvias 3012 or possibly a 4000 if need be. The outfit is for targetting jewies, metres plus flathead (which I'm yet to do) and the occasional flick for reds in ppb. Can anyone with this rod weigh in on the topic? It would be much appreciated.

Cheers.

I got a samurai 302 and it paired great with a daiwa 2500 or a shimano 3000for sizing.

Mine's paired with a 2500 for the same application. I haven't felt the need for a bigger reel, nor do I think a bigger reel is needed.

2500 SOL on my 302. Great combo and has landed plenty of big fish!

Maybe the sol and certate balance up better cause of the weight. Might look into a certate 2500, got a sol 2004 on a 101 that balances very nicely. Was only going 3012 in the luvias to get 150m of pe1.0 but will prefer a 2500 size. Thanks for your advice boys, exactly what I was chasing.

My 302 has a 2500 certate, and it's pretty awesome combo.

I think you could goto a 3000 Daiwa if you want the spool capacity, as they generally aren't that much heavier, but I think the jump to the 3500 or 4000 would be abit much.

Id still stick to a higher end 2500 Daiwa though, I even use mine for bream in heavy structure

I'd love to chuck a steeze on but just can't stretch that far. Looks like a certate 2500 is on the cards. What lb braid do you run?

I had a 2500 sol on mine when I had it, running 12lb braid. A 4000 sized daiwa would be way too heavy for the 302, as you can see from the responses go a 2500 daiwa/ 3000 shimano

I think the 2013 certates are only like $360 or so on digitaka at the moment, good buy!

I ran 12lb and 15lb SAS braid through mine
