Increase motor size

Hi guys
I currently have a 176xl Stratos and are thinking about upgrading the size of the motor but the sticker on the boat and on the website say it is rated to maximum 75hp.
There is a lot of other boats getting around the same size with bigger motors eg Nitro & Skeeter.
Does anyone know what I need to do to increase the rating of the boat or is this only a USA rating?

You may be able to get a marine engineer/shipwright to re do the compliance plate. The main reason it would be rated low is to keep costs down and make it an entry level bass boat. It might not be structurally strong enough to take a 115hp etc. Some of the cheaper us boats are not built that well and only do the bare minimum in the way of laminates in the hull and deck.

Just because they are the same size etc.. doesn't mean they are built the same! I'd be careful exceeding the max hp.
