which prop suits my boat

Hi all I have similar problem as Aussiematrix I have a 450 top ender with 60hp 4 stroke Yamaha .F60c, I have fantastic hole shot rockets to 50 km/ h and that's it, The last 1/4 throttle makes more noise but doesn't go much faster. It would have the original prop supplied by the dealer 11 5/8x 11-G in good condition. I have no tachometer so I don't now what rpm im doing it feels and sounds good at 35km/h by the GPS , would this be the best economical speed, A taco would be good can you recommend one and supplier. Im not a speed freak just like to get the best out of the boat. What is the best rpm range to get the best economy and what speed do you think this would be by GPS? the max RPM should be? 6500 is that correct . So what prop do you recommend and supplier please? Or am I expecting too much and the set up is ok?

RPM should be 5700-6000 rpm.

You need a tachometer before a new prop otherwise you are just damaging the engine! The more engine indication the better but rpm is the very least you should have. On another note look into Solas props and I'd suggest around a 13-15p prop with an 11 1/2 or there about a diameter depending on boat weight weight distribution and gearbox ratio.

Get a tachometer!
