Question for BLUEFIN BOAT owners
Im looking at getting a BLUEFIN boat at the end of the year, possibly a 455 DRIFTER PRO or a 495 FIRECAT..
My mate was talking boats with some guy from his work and he refered to BLUEFIN boats as the "wettest boat hes ever been on", refering to the amount of spray that the driver and passengers copped whilst travelling, but i think he may have been talking about an older boat that didnt have the reverse spray chines on the hull. So my question is, DO YOU HAVE ANY ISSUES WITH ALOT OF SPRAY WETTING THE OCCUPANTS OF THE BOAT or is this info incorrect? Ive read alot of reviews etc of bluefin boats and i must admit ive never heard of this complaint before and you obviously cant believe everything you hear so i thought id ask Bluefin owners themselves. Thanks in advance for any feedback. Cheers. |

Hey bud,
I was lent a bluefin boat back in 2012 when I went over to the gold coast to compete in the classic grand final and it was awesome. Never got wet and it was very comfortable, I guess it all comes down to how you drive it? We drove it around for 3 days in the canals, with weather being a mixture of calm days and windy days. Even took it out to sommerset dam before we flew back to Perth and it handle very nicely. The boats are very well finished and can come with Flow-Rite accessorised livewells a must for any tournament livewell. Hope this helps

Bit late on this I guess.
Ive got a 4.5 Predator. In normal conditions Ive had no issues at all. If gets rough (as in caught out why didnt I go back an hour ago rough) its not too bad still. You will get wet sometimes but its a side console not a Bar Crusher so hitting waves some stuff will cover the top at you.

I have a 4.75 Bluefin Tomcat and its a senstional boat. I have had this thing in 100 Km winds last year in the Derwent Classic Bream round and we made it back fine. It was knarly conditions, but the bluefin got through it where as alot of other boats retreated to other ramps. Its a great versatile boat that can handle rough conditions and go fast as well. Mine will do about 80 Km's with a tricked up 90 optimax on the back. You wouldn't be dissapointed if you got one that I know from my experiences.
Regards, Tony |
