Best place to find a used tournament boat in Australia.

After selling my boat im looking at getting into a tournament style boat. Looking at sx skeeters, nitros 482, z6, triton tr176.. as my garage is not overly wide and these should just fit. Boatsales and tournament boats is dead quiet right now, I am vic based but will travel for the right boat. Is there any other forums or websites I should try? Cheers

I have briefly looked into it, I really feel the need to see the boat personally before handing over money.... having said that I will look into it more. Thanks

Had a look on fb. Gumtree has a nice sx170 but would prefer the 180, boat sales has a sx180 which unfortunately has a jack plate on it otherwise I would of already brought it. Bamm thanks for the offer I will keep that in mind.

On most boats none, but skeeter says not to fit them on sx models and voids hull warranty.

What's the Hull warranty? Life time warranty? Jack plate away I say...wouldn't worry about it!

Yeah lifetime. Any other skeeter model no problem. Skeeter just says no, and people that have them on sx's report no or minimal gains.

I've seen the sx170 and 180 next to each other and with out getting out a tape Measure you would be had pressed to spot the difference by eye. Both seem to be usually powered by a 115hp giving the 170(especially that one on gumtree with etec HO actually 127hp) an advantage in top speed and hole shot over a 180 with the same hp.
If you give josh from skeeter a call tell him your budget he will keep an eye out for you quite often there are skeeter owners looking to upgrade and there boats never seam to make it usual advertising places. Boatsales, tournament boats etc

What's your budget??

I've gone the import road due to my budget & might be the best way for you as well.

From my experience small Nitro's sell quickly here in Australia & more than what you can import one for..

Nitro Nx750's sell for about 10-12k US for one with 115hp optimax in the states
You can also get Nitro 482/Z6 around 9-14k with 115hp- 135hp optimax

Both these boats are 17;6" - 17'9" in length with 86' beam

I still think the Nitro 591/Z7 are best buys for 13k- 17k US most have 150hp optimax's are 18'8" with 94" beam..

Allow 8-10K for the import this includes your freight, taxes & trailer mod costs
