Gold V Bronze Penetrators by spotters

Just wondering what are the dis-advantages and advantages of the one lense colour over the other......

To those who own a pair- when buying, why did you go for the one colour over the other?

I think the bronze lenses suit our type of fishing - they cut out the blue light which enables you to see deeper into the water column.

I think that's right - anyway I've got the bronze photochromatic ones and I love 'em !!. Heaps of times I've been fishing and pointed to snags/fish that others can't see, and then when I take my sunnies off I know why !

Thanx for the reply. Just wondering why do you think the bronze colour cuts through glare better than the gold? Both are the penetrator lense so there shouldn't be any diffy right? Just trying to determine why the bronze lense is more popular among fisho's as opposed to the Gold ones....

Doesn't the gold one has a reflective tint? That's probably why ppl prefer the bronze one. The gold reflection may spook fishes. I have standard amber tint Pro Poly and I reckon its great for estuary work. I even use it offshore and able to see the bottom clearly and that's in 10-12m of water. What U really want though is photochromatic lenses. There are great as they are able to adjust the level of polarisation at different light levels. Ask Mim, she would be full bottle on sunnies.

Hmmm... I'm interested too. I just uses any polaroids that don't have reflector tints, cos they do reflect back into water.

I've fished with guys that use expensive spotters, makos, etc, and I still see what they see..... thing is, I've read alot in the forums, and magazines, talked to others, and just wondering whether there is any real difference, as the mechanics of polaroids no matter what is the same, that is, that they cut the glare and blue light refracting pattern from the water, so that you can see clearly into the water.......

so, I'm confused to what is actually better, and whether i should really invest in a pair of pricey polaroids?
