Simple idle in to the bank, trim the motor up and gently beach it. Sometimes I'll trim the motor back down into the mud/sand to stop it swinging about or to stop it floating back off.

So it's ok to stick the motor in the mud? I usually motor in slow and trim up around 70-80cm and it comes in softly.

There are a few rubs on the Skeg is that normal?

The reason for the question is I have a crack I will upload a picture

I do it and have had no problems, I don't jam it into the mud but just enough to hold the boat steady. I've got scratches on the skeg...the cover...the hull...it comes with fishing oyster racks, so unless they're major issues I wouldn't be too worried.

I'm no mechanic, but if its still working then hey..

If you're worried, I'd take it into your local shop and get them to suss it out.

Mate I wouldn't worry to much about it, it looks more like a chip than a crack, if it was running through the whole housing than you would have a problem just keep a eye on it, it should be ok. and we either just beach it with the motor trimmed up or tie up to a jetty if available.

Cheers
