Lake Keepit

I recently had the pleasure of dropping into Lake Keepit, near Tamworth NSW.
This lake has some great facilities and the fishing is ok to, we got one yellowbelly and missed a stack of other bites, we only had a couple of hours on the lake, but I do want to return.
We must of missed over 30 bites on soft plastics, only small bumps but were still hard to get. I have heard there might be red fin in there, so maybe that's why we missed so many fish?

Yellas can be real bastards sometimes. Have had numerous sessions where I've had them knock off a whole pack of placcy tails. One fish I thought was tiny because of the taps ended up being my pb yella at 650mm

Thanks Normoh, I do not normally target Yellowbelly, I normally get them as a by catch of bass. I am keen to learn on how to target them more often and its good to know that the bites may of been yellowbelly.

Hey Trev.
In that case it's just the yellas being cantankerous, there are no reddies in Keepit (or spangles, or barred grunter). Plastics work well there, it can just some fiddling to sort out the short strikers

Cheers
Chris
