Yamaha 2003 Anode Replacement...

Hi all,

Have a Yamaha F40 4 stroke 2003 model, I need to change the anodes and have changed two successfully on the tilt and trim and the bracket the engine sits on. Hunts marine gave me 3 more anodes and said these are for the head...

I have absolutely no clue where they go and hope someone here in BM knows where. Ill post pics of the one's I have changed and the anodes that I have no clue about them.

I havnt changed mine yet, But with the cover off have a look next to the spark plugs there are (3 if I remember correctly) caps with 10 or 12 mm bolts holding them down. Id be pretty confident they hide behind there

Ok people,

changed two anodes with no fuss. Just like bjpk said they are right next to the spark plugs. Came to the 3rd anode un screwed everything like normal come to grab the anode with the pliers and the anode turns to dust... try to get the rest out ends up slipping all the way back into the engine and have no clue what to do.

Has this happened to anyone before... I am devastated and think its going to be a very expensive process from here. Please help in anyway. Thanks everyone.

that's no good, Id take one of the good anodes that you have changed back
out and have a look where it could fall into. May just be a cavity that can be cleaned out? unfortunately I haven't had one out so not sure where they could go to. I doubt they would design it as to cause damage if they crumble on removal though.
