Well im down in Geelong and there isnt many rivers to fish here BUT there is a pretty shmicko harbour you can wish (corio bay, water front). I have been fishing it in my yak and it's perfect. There is a yaght club with docks, piers, jettys, rockwalls, flats ect.
Corio bay is pretty sheltured.
If you want anymore info just PM me or dagga and im sure Ballnuts would be kind enough to help you out to

chears, Nathan

East Gippsland has some nice estuaries/rivers. Some of the more sheltered ones you might want to give a try if weather permits: Hollands Landing (Gippsland Lakes also Nicholson, Tambo & Mitchell Rivers nearby), Lake Tyers (Upper Arms), Tamboon Inlet, Wingan Inlet, Mueller River (All Near Cann River), Mallacoota (Launch near Gypsy Point and head up Genoa or Wallaraugh Rivers or try the Betka), and Bemm River. On my wish list I don't know much about are Wonboyn (over the border in NSW) and on the west coast near the S.A. border the Glenelg River. Plan on a few days and a decent drive if your Melbourne based, the closest being Hollands Landing between Sale/Bairnsdale. Good luck, and if the bream aren't on remember the perch, flatties and others!!
