and the list goes on and on and on...

Tie whatever is easier for you and quickest on the water.

I am yet to master an FG

i've been having trouble lately with light braid cutting through my leader knot....came across the varivas knot (below) its just a slight variation of the slim beauty but initial results look promising.

Interesting. Looks like a 2 turn Surgeon's knot +. I find a 4 turn Surgeon's knot the go for me. Regards HBt.

FG

Tied at home. Growse posted up a great link in another thread on an easy way to tie it. Got it after four practice runs.

But if I lose my leader I'm pulling the reel with fc straight-thru out of my bag ... My fishing time is so precious I don't like having to tie knots. Same reasons I use clips ....

For people having issues with knots and light line I can't recommend the daiwa knot tool enough. I must be retarded or just get frustrated too easily but I really hate light line knots. Since using the tool I've been less frustrated and the knots seem to hold really well. Managed to pull in a 48cm Bigeye the other morning off the surface with 4lb leader and the knot held perfectly.

Although not on the topic I hope this helps.
