Question Stessco Dingies

Hi
New to this Forum, Am after Good and Bad feedback/Info on the Stessco FL 430 Dingies, would be powering it with a 40hp 4st tiller steer not sure what brand? If I go ahead would be selling my Quintrex 3.85 explorer, 15hp Mercury 4 st Big foot L/S, on a Dunbier trailer, very low hours on all!$5000.00. Any info thoughts on other Brands appreciated.

Regards
Chris

Hey Mate,

I had a stessco catcher 4.2 for the past 9 years that I decked out with platforms and electric motor. I was very happy with the boat and could not fault it, and I have seen some of their newer boats and they have improved there design. There are a few small issues that you need to be aware of if you are going to put decks in the boat, for example I only placed decks at the front and back of the boat which resulted in some cracking on the ribs, but nothing major. Overall a very solid boat.

Let me know if you are looking for more specific info

Youngy

Stessco Dingy

Hi
Thanks for the reply, I have ordered the FL 450 with a Suzuki 50hp Tiller steer, the layout suits me as I am mainly interested in only fishing 3-4 miles offshore, I recently sold a bigger boat, am now only interested an easier style of fishing. I've had a look at an FL430 the finish and welding appears to be reasonable but time will tell.

mate I too had the RV Catcher 420 - simply the best tinny I have been in; it is still going strong with a local guide.

I can see myself back in one in a few years time too, even though I will have to once again purchase it in QLD and get it down to Tas again!

Can't speak highly enough of their performance, dryness and capability for a little boat.

Will be keen to hear your thoughts on the FL after you have had it out a few times

Thumbs up

I too would love to know how you get on with the new model.
I think they have just improved with time.

Stessco FL450 Dingy

HI
Further to my previous posts I've had the dingy out a few times, very impressed to date handles a bit of a sea no worries fairly dry when you keep the speed down, very happy with the Suzuki motor goes really well. To date very happy with the package certainly got plenty of deck space.

Regards
Chris
