I pilot problem

Got a problem with a 24v 80 pound thrust model.

When adjusting direction left or right it occasionally doesn't stop and does a half turn or sometimes no response from the remote.

Changed battery etc and still occurs. Had the unit for 12 months and not much
Use and this has just started. Can't get it to happen when I have it home in the shed or outside. Only on the water under power. Not sure if it's the gps or the remote.

Anyone had this before?

Yes have a foot pedal, forgot to take with me on the last trip to try out.

Seems to happen more when the auto pilot is on so wondering if it's the gps board.

Do you find that it could be trying to untangle it's cable from around the motor?

I've found that when autopilot is on or anchor lock. The motor will sometimes play the game of roulette to untangle it's cable from itself. A couple of times it has almost ended in disaster as halfway through untangling the wind has pushed us in a direction away and sent us barelling toward bridge pylons or pontoons.

Don't think so, it occurs when I'm trolling in a straight line and just adjusting
The direction.

Is it under warranty, because it may not be the remote, hate to see you by another remote and have the same problem. You need to test your remote on another I-pilot.

Still under warranty.

What else could it be if the foot control works?

"When adjusting direction left or right it occasionally doesn't stop and does a half turn or sometimes no response from the remote."
This sentence makes me think it's your motherboard in the I pilot head.

Ok, suggest I just take it in whilst under warranty then.

I've sent an email with the details to my local dealer and BLA so I'll see what the say.

Thanks.

Just got my motor back after a month. Didn't find anything wrong they say

Will see how we go on the water again.

Best of all it was returned damaged

Put in a complaint so see how we go. Looks like it was dragged on the concrete.

Inject half a drop of reel oil around the directional control buttons on your remote, if they get even slightly sticky they can cause the motor to act as you discribed

Hi mate. I have an I pilot and have found if the all the electrical connections, (especially on the board) are not solid and have good current flow you will have problems like you describe.

I would go over all the connectors on the board. Take each one off and squish them down with pliers to make sure they're as tight as possible and clean the surfaces up as well if you can. Let us know how you go if you do it

Just got the electric back from BLA, made some adjustments
And say it's fixed. Took it out yesterday and same problems as before.

Checked current flow with multimeter and no problems there so don't know what to do now.

Works fine and then you press to turn left or right and no response. Have to press two or three times and then it responds. Make a small adjustment to turn and it turns 45degrees.
