in an early comp , Frank Procop caught a reddy at the mouth of the murry ...

I saw a young kid pull ip a crab pot containg a large crab and a large marron at murry bend ...

and where i fish up the murry i have caught several reddies after the rains as well as bream ... but all small reddies

Exclamation

At the Murray mouth when they flush the freshwater through the barrages, you end up with a freshwater layer on top of the denser saltwater.
It is possible in these situations to get both redfin and bream at the same time, however it happens rarely that the redfin will be on the bite.
Although the redfin won't last long on the saltwater side as eventually the fresh and salt mix, I have heard of them surviving for a few days, until they either get eaten by predators or wash out to sea after dying.

I've heard of bream caught in complete fresh where u wouldn't think its even in a tidal zone to get salt water... Where your targeting Redfin and hooking bream as well as...

Just to clarify for tinker, there is a Murray in WA, where he is talking, not our south aussie Murray River Mouth in Goolwa.
