Sending Reels Off To Shimano For Servicing

Hey fellas, any of you know how long it takes to receive a reel back from Shimano after sending it away for a service?

I sent one of mine off on Monday morning and just wasn't sure what the turn around would be?
Thought one of you might know...

Cheers

Oh nothing just because thats where Shimano asked me to send in my Stradic for evaluation. Just seemed to me that they were in denial in that email I got.

I didnt bother sending it in to be honest.

I have herd good stories with 1 week turn around and other stories with longer... Depends who you get - there is one story on the Shimano FB page with some bird loosing both her reels to Shimano Australia and their service dept.

Good luck

P.s. I dont like their new charges for their servicing - seems to be like a Automotive servicing rip off scheme to me.

Nice, one week turn around would be good...
How did they loose her reels? I hope she got them back!

Don't hold ur breath, probs about 3-4 weeks, sometimes it's easier and cheaper to get them fixed locally. If Shimano australia don't get their DohDohDohDoh together, it might be w good idea to just buy from the states, we get ripped here

It seems that either A) Aust post cocked up B) they cocked up... Either way she was spitting fire on FB - Shimano seemed to care less about saving face and just said 'sorry we dont have them'... Pretty poor.

Only have to see the Shimano Online Parts Ordering post I put up a couple of weeks ago - Prices for those in the states are near enough "free" - compared to what we pay!!!!

What did you send in? How much did it cost? Should add a little more info just to give some depth to your comment.

Didn't know there were rules on this forum...... ? The reel I sent in was a Stradic FJ 2500 which had a worn down idle gear and craked base plate. Sent it in on a monday and got it back the next monday. End cost was something like $30 for the service, parts replacement & postage. On the receipt they listed that they had also replaced the roller bearing and many other small parts and hadn't charged me for anything bar the base plate and idle gear. Considering it cost me $50 to get the roller bearing replaced in one of my Fuegos I was pretty damn stoked.

There isnt any rules as such nor was I being a smartass - however adding some more depth to a comment makes it easier for others to gauge what theyre in for.

Like me saying "I was stoked with my Suzuki servicing at the local Helensvale dealership".

The finer details - the car went in a total of 12 times only to be suffering the same issues for that year 'severe steering wobble' every time I got it back after they said it was fixed! The 13th time it went in, when only the steering dampener and the shim bushings were added to the king pin bearings upon my expressed application I saw a proper fix to my issue of steering wobble for good.

I'm personally starting to think shimano just does not give a flying fist full of f$&k anymore also.

Shimano Australia especially

Sent them an email almost a week ago, no reply. Sent an email to Daiwa, got a reply next day.

Anyone received anything from shimano recently that was actually helpful?

I fired off an email today to them asking them a question... I got a reply but it had nothing to do with the question I had asked
