Daiwa 4000 - Catalina vs. Caldia w/proof?

Here's a question, I'm wanting to buy a 4000 Daiwa reel. The main feature I want is a waterproof reel for fishing out on reefs amongst the waves. Does the latest Caldia have the same magseal waterproofing as the Catalina? I know there is a big difference in price but I am willing to save for the right reel. What's the xtra $300 going to give me anyways?
Any thoughts on the whole Daiwa waterproofing thing?

Thanks in advance.

if your options are catalina and caldia, go catalina. i own a few of the new caldias and while i think they are great for light line fishing i really wouldnt buy one larger than 2500, to me they dont feel like tanks and as such i dont fish them to the limit, keep it light. it may be the lightweight nature of the reel but ive loaded my 2500's up on some XOS cod (and a manta ray!) and i didnt like the feel, so if you wanna run a decent amount of drag can the caldia imo

I've got the 4000 size caldia, and dont mind it, but definitely dont think its as good as it should be given its original price point. It has the mag seal, but no crbb. There had been conflicting reports on the bearings used, so I rang Daiwa, and their answer was no crbb.
I really use mine for the same applications as a 4000 size shimano because of its light weight, but I gain line capacity. If you want a tough, bash around reel for heavy salt use, I dont think the caldia is your choice.
Cheers

What about the Sol 2? It has the mag seal and CRBB.

I would vote for the Catalina also.
The new version shares alot of the same qualities as the new saltiga range.
Alan hawk did a very in depth review of the 6500 size Catalina that identified some these attributes
I think a quick alan hawk google search should get you started
