Certate Hyper 2500R v Emeraldas Colossal 2508RH

Hi guys.

Just wondering if there is any internal differences between the Certate Hyper custom 2500R and the Emeraldas Colossal 2508RH....

Obviously the gear ratio is different (4:8-5:2) but besides that is there anything? They don't weigh the same with different spools and knobs..

The Certate 2500R was marketed as a 2500 sized body with the gears of the 3000 inside it, though I don't actually know how this is possible because I'm 99% sure that they both share the same body anyway so wouldn't they naturally share the same sized internals?

Would love to know if someone knows for sure how they differ....

Cheers
Manno

Hey Manno, as far as I'm aware the 2508 is a shallow spool version.
I thought the 2500R is a 3000 body/gears etc with a 2500 size spool.
Cheers Paul

Thanks Paul. Yep, def a shallow spool but because its a 2508R i was only assuming that it must have the same body/rotor size combination as the Certate 2500R and looking at the specs, maybe like you say its just a 3000 size with a 2500 sized rotor and spool? But im sure ive read official released info stating that the 2500R was a 2500 body with 3000 size gearing. Dunno.... Whats the bloody R mean!!??

So perhaps the 2508R is the same reel but with a different ratio and a shallow spool?
