Spare parts???

Does anyone know where to get spare parts for diawa? I have emailed diawa australia and nothing, no reply (makes me wonder why i would want to buy their stuff!)
Anywho i have a diawa regal my brother gave me and it needs a part on the bail arm replaced. The reel has hardly been used so would like to give it a good run this year

Any help appreciated!

I gave one of my certates to my local tackle shop a few months ago for a service.
He tried to order the parts from Diawa & was told they would not send parts out, the reel would have to be sent in for it to be serviced.
I was very happy with it once it was done however I do admit & found the price quite fair.

why don't you just call daiwa service centre. I get parts all the time with no dramas and the prices aren't too bad at all

if you order through a tackle store though, you'll have to wait for the staff to put the order in then get around to telling you the items have arrived.

much easier to call them, they're pretty good blokes and even in Darwin, it didn't take long to get parts in at all

Thanks nagz yeah have done that before, you call them to check on the progress and they tell you "we were just about to call you" i have had awesome help from the guys at shimano they have sent me small springs for free which i really appreciated as postage would have cost more then the spring itself

Spare parts are a hard one - some small shops cant hold accounts with Shimano, Daiwa, Abu and all the others - financially hard in these times. Hence why some people cant deal with them on a volume scale without an account - which equals no parts to service their bloody reels? In turn, turns these customers away from their reels to another brand...

If you want parts from the big boys and they dont reply - I would call them and if that falls on its head that should be a good enough outcome to buy other reels elsewhere...

I get parts that I need including other bits and pieces like bearings from my mate that does reel service - he's has accounts with all the majors and its better as he speaks directly to those that send out the parts then and there; never really a issue.

My only gripe is that those that service our reels as a 'Satellite Service Centre' are being forced to buy more every month to keep their accounts - and we are servicing through them less in favour of going directly to the Manufacturers and in turn are being screwed honestly.

If you saw the parts and service costs breakdown of one of our favourite brands you all would say the same thing what I said when I read it... "F*$# THAT"...

Amazing what the pressures are forced onto the little guys by the big players!

I know this is a bit out of place, but man Okuma have some amazing customer service.....this part of Rapala ? Ordering Parts, spares etc. is just so easy with the bloke they have working there and he sends it off, with next to nothing postage from N.S.W to Vic. Pity they not as popular as other Brands.
