Insanely cheap reels online! Whats the catch?

I've been having a look online at some reels lately and came across this site ecwholesale plaza .com selling some top of the line reels at about 1/3 of the price of most other retailers.
Now obviously the first thing that comes to mind is if something seems to good to be true it probably is.

Can any of you experienced online traders maybe shed some light on this at all?
e.g if it is dodgy will it be the products that are faulty or will you just not get it?

Stella fe's starting at $209.........surely not?
cheers,james.

The name even calls dodgy ecwholesale. If it is legit, which I highly doubt it is. It will probably ask you buy 5 - 10 at a time. Definitely avoid.

Search around and read the reviews for these sellers. There are usually a hand full of people that test the waters and buy from them. The feedback is almost always negative. "Money paid, no product received" seems to be a comment echoed quite frequently.

There seems to be a growing trend of these guys advertising the availability of PayPal on their sites only to note at the checkout that their PayPal account is down and it would be better if the transaction was finalised by other means.

The hook is that someone may be willing to part with $210 of their hard earned at a "chance" of purchasing a stella/exist/insert any other high priced toy here. They market heavily at western consumers where they know they fall outside our consumer protection jurisdiction.

In most of the countries these traders reside in the term consumer protection usually means the consumer carries a bigger firearm than the trader.

I see these sites get a mention at work every now and then. It's rather clever when you think about it.

The outcome would be you lose your money. I don't see that is a gamble, gambling usually has a positive outcome somewhere.

Also beware of dodgy sellers in Aus, Daiwa australia put out a statment on another forum recently warning people of sellers on ebay and aus fishing forums flogging off Exist/certate models cheap with no internals or reels made from bodging together parts of different reels to make one.
A few have been stung and apparently Daiwa service dept have had an influx of these ripoffs coming in for 'repairs'.
